Facial palsy is one of the more common diseases in the acupuncture clinic. It often occurs in the alternate seasons and cold seasons, and has a rapid onset. Patients often feel panic and seek medical help, but often miss the best treatment time due to improper treatment methods, which affects the recovery effect. At present, there are more treatment methods, the common ones are: acupuncture, medicine, plaster, bloodletting, etc. Based on clinical experience, I have observed that acupuncture is the safest and most effective among all the methods, and it is suitable for facial palsy due to various causes. As for the timing of facial palsy treatment, according to clinical experience, those who receive acupuncture immediately at the beginning of the disease will have fast results and good efficacy, and will have better efficacy and no sequelae if combined with medication (except for persistent facial palsy). If the treatment method is not appropriate or misses the best recovery period, the efficacy is slow and unsatisfactory, and the sequelae are very easy to fall. Some of the more common sequelae are: facial muscle spasm, orofacial inversion, and linkage disorder.
