Cinnamon meat is longan meat. Fresh longan meat should be eaten raw; dry products should be decocted into soup, or into the pill, loose, or boiled paste, or soaked in wine.
Longan meat is the aril of longan, warm in nature, sweet in flavor, attributed to the heart, spleen meridian. Longan meat has the effect of tranquilizing the mind, benefiting qi and blood, and tonifying the heart and spleen. It is suitable for palpitations and panic attacks caused by deficiency of the heart and spleen, forgetfulness and insomnia, and lack of appetite; it is also used for tiredness and fatigue caused by insufficient qi and blood, and yellowish color.
Longan meat should be eaten raw; the dried product should be decocted and eaten, or soaked in wine, or put into pills, bulk, or boiled in paste. Traditional Chinese medicines related to this product include Ginseng and Spleen Pills and Fatigue-eliminating Granules.
Adverse effects of Longan Pork are not known. Caution should be exercised if there is internal phlegm-fire and dampness stagnation in the middle and fullness.
