For allergic rhinitis or asthma, the efficacy of sublingual desensitization treatment usually occurs in about 1 to 6 months, but individual differences are great. The effectiveness of allergic disease treatment is generally measured by efficacy, such as what is the “effective rate”. Antihistamines or hormones can only relieve and control the disease, and flare-ups are very likely after stopping the medication. Immunotherapy, however, can improve the patient’s allergic constitution and modulate the body’s immune system so that the patient’s symptoms improve dramatically after exposure to allergens, even if no symptoms occur. Data from clinical trials have shown that sublingual desensitization with Changdi is up to 80% effective for six months. One study showed that the effectiveness of one year of sublingual desensitization for allergic rhinitis was 87.5%, slightly better than 85% for subcutaneous injections. Symptom scores were greatly improved. Another study showed that sublingual desensitization for allergic asthma was observed for one year with an efficiency rate of 88.46% and 71.15% of patients were completely relieved of the disease and no recurrence. There are many academic articles on the efficacy of sublingual desensitization with Changdi, and although the reported efficiency rate varies, it is mostly above 80%.
