A. Etiology: Acute purulent palatine tonsillitis is an acute nonspecific inflammation of the palatine tonsils, often accompanied by pharyngitis, most often seen in adolescents under 20 years of age. The main causative agents are Streptococcus b haemolyticus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and H. influenzae can also cause the disease. In general, the above pathogens exist in the normal pharynx and palatine tonsils, and cause the disease when the body’s resistance decreases. The main symptoms are as follows: the main manifestation is severe pain in the pharynx, afraid to swallow, pain often radiates to the ear, accompanied by chills and high fever. The examination shows that the palatine tonsils are congested, obviously swollen, and pus plugs are visible. Treatment: antibiotics, antipyretic and analgesic drugs are available.
