Psychological care is important in how to treat diabetic foot

As a doctor, I have seen many serious patients who have been affected by diabetic foot for a long time, and have lost confidence in treatment and life, and some even refuse to cooperate with the doctor’s treatment plan and give up treatment. It is difficult for us to understand and “empathize” with them. At this time, their psychology is really fragile, so psychological care is also an indispensable part of treatment. The treatment itself is a service, and the doctor is in a leading position in the psychological treatment of the patient. Therefore, when medical staff and provide medical services, good communication and services, patient communication methods, multi-channel communication methods, and patients actively explain the progress of the disease, treatment plans and effects, etc., can reduce the patient’s sense of spacing to medical staff and hospitals, and enhance the patient’s trust in medical staff. When the patient trusts the doctor and has confidence in himself, the patient’s compliance will improve, he will actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment plan and be in a happy mood, and the speed of trauma recovery will naturally increase. This is not only beneficial to the recovery of the trauma, but also to the patient’s experience and the reputation of the doctor, the department and the hospital, which I think is a multi-benefit. Of course, the support of the family is also crucial. If the family shows positive treatment emotions and is willing to treat the patient, it will also increase the confidence of treatment. On the contrary, if the patient feels that he or she has become a burden and a liability for the family, what would we do if we were ourselves? Therefore, the work of the family must still be done, must encourage the patient, and the patient together with the disease to do battle. I have also met many of these patients’ families, all the way to the patient’s treatment to many places, but also spent a lot of money, the economic conditions become one of the reasons that hinder the patient’s treatment. This leaves a lot to be considered for treatment. The elderly themselves want to be cured, but their children really can’t get the money, and eventually they have to give up. Given the characteristics of chronic trauma, it leads to a high cost of treatment, everywhere. Sometimes when we meet such patients, we try our best to help them and we all hope that they will be cured one day sooner. But still, I really don’t want people to have such a serious situation, and I suggest that you do a good job of prevention from early on, and go to a diabetic foot specialist in time to receive the right treatment when you encounter problems, to avoid detours that can cause serious financial and psychological stress to patients and families.
