How many days after treatment of diabetic foot amputation can I be discharged from the hospital?

If you do not receive the right treatment, there is a high chance that your diabetic foot will get worse and you may even face amputation. Previously, patients and families have been asking our diabetic foot treatment specialist how long it takes to be discharged from the hospital after amputation surgery. First of all, we do not amputate limbs, so we cannot answer the question of time. However, there are many factors affecting the time, and a brief analysis is as follows: First, the wound is infected again after amputation, and if the infection is serious, it may need to be operated again, and it is difficult to predict the time of retreatment afterwards. Second, the patient’s physical condition has not improved. Some patients will have low blood pressure after amputation and need to be improved in hospital. Others have hypoproteinemia, electrolyte disorders, reconstruction of blood circulation, etc., all of which need to receive systematic conditioning and treatment, all of which will affect the discharge time. There are many other factors that can affect the discharge time. However, people can completely avoid the physical and psychological damage caused by amputation to the patient through the combination of Chinese and Western medicine without amputation. Warm tip: Patients with diabetic foot should not blindly treat themselves with medication to avoid delaying treatment and making the trauma more serious. When diabetic foot appears, it must be transferred to MDT multidisciplinary joint treatment center or department specialized in treating diabetic foot in time to receive systematic treatment with combination of Chinese and Western medicine without amputation.
