How long does it usually take to heal from cholecystitis?

Cholecystitis is divided into acute cholecystitis and chronic cholecystitis. Acute cholecystitis can generally be cured in 3-5 days with active treatment, while chronic cholecystitis requires 7-10 days for symptoms to improve. Acute cholecystitis requires active anti-infection, anti-inflammatory and cholestatic treatment, and the symptoms of cholecystitis can be gradually improved or cured in about 3-5 days. In the case of cholecystitis caused by gallbladder stones, if the above-mentioned treatment is ineffective or the symptoms are not relieved significantly, gallbladder removal surgery is required and the patient can be cured after surgery. For patients with chronic cholecystitis, after giving a light diet and avoiding the intake of high-fat and high-protein diet, combined with anti-inflammatory and choleretic drugs, the symptoms can generally be relieved in about 7-10 days. However, it can recur at any time under the triggering factors of greasy diet and high-calorie diet, and surgery is required to cure it. In conclusion, the treatment of cholecystitis is significantly related to diet, and surgery is the best way to cure either acute cholecystitis or chronic cholecystitis.
