What to do if you have a kidney stone attack during pregnancy

Urinary stones are a common disease. The enlarged uterus of pregnant women compresses the ureter, causing ureteral obstruction and easily complicating kidney stones. Because of the influence of the fetus, many medications, surgery and other treatments are limited, so conservative treatment is usually taken to relieve the obstruction. If there is renal colic or hydronephrosis, a surgical ureteral stent tube can be placed to relieve the obstruction or a percutaneous nephrostomy can be performed to drain the urine to temporarily relieve the symptoms and wait for further treatment after delivery. If there is no symptom and no hydronephrosis, you can observe conservatively for the time being and wait for the delivery before surgery to treat the stone.
