Can sediment gallstones be excreted

It is possible for gallbladder sediment-like stones to be expelled. Sediment-like stones are small in diameter and may pass through the neck of the gallbladder, the cystic duct into the common bile duct, and possibly even eventually through the sphincter of Oddi into the duodenum after a change in position or exercise. It should be noted, however, that although gallbladder sediment-like stones may be expelled from the body, they may also cause acute calculous cholecystitis or biliary pancreatitis during expulsion, with serious consequences. Currently, stone expulsion as well as extracorporeal lithotripsy are contraindicated for any type of gallbladder stones. This is because these operations are more likely to cause serious complications and the likelihood of achieving results with treatment is very small. Surgical treatment is preferred for gallbladder mud-like stones, with laparoscopic cholecystectomy being preferred and laparoscopic stone removal with preservation of the gallbladder not recommended.
