The course of chickenpox is self-limiting, and the treatment mainly focuses on general treatment, antiviral treatment and symptomatic treatment.
1. General treatment: patients should be isolated, strengthen nursing care, change underwear frequently, cut nails, wear gloves to prevent scratching and reduce the stimulation of infection. Keep air circulation, supply enough water and digestible food.
2. Antiviral treatment: In the choice of drugs, oral acyclovir tablets can be used, and intravenous drug should be given to serious patients. In the early stage of chickenpox, that is, 24 to 72 hours after the rash, the use of acyclovir can play a role in reducing the severity of chickenpox and shortening the duration of the disease.
3. Symptomatic treatment: Itchy skin can be relieved with localized glycerite lotion, and antihistamines such as loratadine can be given if necessary. When secondary infection occurs, antibiotic ointment can be used for topical treatment, such as fusidic acid cream.
In case of chickenpox, the clinician should be consulted as soon as possible, and the medication should be applied appropriately under the guidance of the clinician.
