Patients discharged from the hospital cured of SARS were closely followed up by checking lung function, CT, and blood gas analysis, and examination of CT after one year of follow-up revealed that the lung function of patients discharged from the hospital cured of SARS basically returned to normal and did not differ from normal people.
In contrast, the lung imaging characteristics of the present novel coronavirus pneumonia, as well as the clinical pathophysiology, are similar to SARS. Therefore, patients with new coronavirus pneumonia are discharged from the hospital similar to SARS patients, with no major differences in sequelae.
