Is it better to treat cerebral infarction with Chinese medicine or Western medicine?

In the clinical treatment of cerebral infarction, both Chinese and Western medicine can achieve relatively good results. However, for patients in the hyperacute stage of cerebral infarction, Western medicine such as thrombolysis is still the main treatment modality. TCM treatment of cerebral infarction should be combined with the specific cause of the patient, and then the diagnosis and treatment should be given to different drug prescriptions. The more commonly used drug choices include Huayu and Anti-thrombosis Tang, Gueilong Tongmingmingye, Huangqi Jiuyu Tang, etc. Current research results show that they have also achieved relatively good therapeutic effects. For patients with cerebral infarction, both traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine should be used in conjunction with secondary prevention measures for cerebral infarction, including the application of lipid-lowering drugs, antihypertensive drugs and blood sugar-lowering drugs. At the same time, patients’ life rhythm and routine should be actively improved and corresponding dietary structure should be adjusted, for example, in the process of daily diet, more fresh fruits and vegetables should be consumed, while high fat, high salt and high sugar food intake should be avoided.
