Treatment of ingrown nails with nail infection

Ingrown toenail onychomycosis is a common and frequent disease in adults. It can cause severe local swelling and pain, affect walking and standing, and is recurrent, causing great pain and inconvenience to the patient. However, this “minor disease” is generally not given much attention in clinical practice. 1, pathogenesis: The main reason for the onset of ingrown toenail nail infections is the large curvature of the toenail, improperly cut toenail, human weight-bearing factors and local failure to make timely anti-inflammatory treatment. In short, the deeper the toenail is cut, the more walking, the faster and heavier the disease comes. 2, the main reason for the formation of ingrown toenail: ingrown toenail nailitis is the main reason for the formation of: toenail trimmed too short, so that the soft tissue next to no toenail coverage, will grow upward, when the new toenail grows out, stabbed into the soft tissue. Wearing unsuitable shoes, such as pointed shoes, which are too narrow in the front, will squeeze up the soft tissues of the toes, and over time, will also form ingrown nails. Toenails can also become deformed when the nail bed or nail cells are affected due to breakage of the toe from playing soccer, collisions, and bruises. In addition, fungal infections and overweight bodies are also triggering factors. 3, prevention and control methods: the only requirement to prevent its development is: bunion toenail rather long than short, when the toenail stay longer than the nail groove, both sides of the nail edge is not possible to stimulate the soft tissue of the nail groove, there is no ingrown nail and the resulting nail infection. So repeated nail onset should remember, rather than toe nail stay long damage socks, but also do not hurt the nail groove, so as to avoid trouble and pain. Once the ingrown nail infection occurs, the lighter the local application of iodine or new jelmin tincture wet soak, three to four times a day, and the appropriate application of antimicrobial agents, generally can control the infection; heavy redness, swelling and pain with severe pus, in addition to strengthening the anti-infection, if necessary, local incision and drainage to relieve pain, drainage to make the inflammation subside. 4, the conventional treatment of ingrown nail polaritis: many friends are going to pedicure, which can temporarily relieve the symptoms of ingrown nail, if the nail grows again, ingrown nail polaritis will recur, many times trimming, ingrown nail polaritis will gradually aggravate, increasing the difficulty of treatment. In the hospital, nail pulling treatment is routinely used to treat minor ingrown nails, but for more serious ingrown nail infections, nail pulling treatment is not only painful, but crucially, easy to relapse. For minor ingrown nails, it is possible to cure them without nail extraction. The key to treating ingrown nails is to repair the nail bed to correct normal nail growth. 5, the prevention of nail gourditis in the foot: (1) diligently cut toenails, cut into arcs, nail grooves on both sides of the tip of the toenail, do not casually cut nail grooves, found toes squeezed each other should be put into the appropriate amount of sterilized cotton or soft objects in the toe seam so that they are separated from each other, so that the normal development of the toe, to prevent pressure on the toenail into the nail groove. (2) usually pay attention to the maintenance of the toe, enhance the skin around the nail groove resistance to disease. (3) Wear shoes of appropriate size, fat and thin, suitable and light shoes. (4) If the nail is septic, go to the hospital for timely treatment. (5) The nail infection should be treated in time to avoid aggravation of the condition and increase the patient’s pain.
