Pain behind the ear is a very common symptom that can be caused by a variety of factors and patients need to see a doctor to complete relevant tests to accurately determine the cause.
From a symptomatic point of view, if the patient has redness and swelling of the skin behind the right ear, it is presumed that the pain is more likely to be caused by an inflammatory skin lesion. If the patient has concurrent pain in the ear, consider the possibility of otitis externa, acute middle ear mastoiditis, cerumen adenocarcinoma, etc.
