What is the cause of frequent swelling of the feet

Frequent swelling of the feet may be due to valvular insufficiency of the veins of the lower extremities. There are structures similar to one-way valves, called valves, in the veins of the lower limbs at regular intervals, which serve to open them from the feet toward the heart, allowing blood to flow smoothly back from the feet toward the heart. If the valves are broken, i.e. the valves are not functioning properly, some of the blood will flow back, and there will be a reflux on the way to the heart, leading to high pressure in the veins of the lower limbs, which causes fluid to leak out of the vessels, causing oedema in the feet or legs. Once the condition occurs you should be seen in the vascular surgery department and have a color ultrasound of the veins of the lower extremities to identify the cause and treat the condition.
