Early cure for pancreatic cancer

It is possible to achieve clinical cure for early stage pancreatic cancer. There are also many clinical reports showing that early stage pancreatic cancer can achieve a survival of 10 years or even more than 20 years after radical surgical resection is given. Although recurrence and metastasis are still possible, the survival is statistically significant compared to patients with intermediate to late stage pancreatic cancer. However, because the pancreas is a retroperitoneal organ, clinical symptoms are not typical when lesions appear, so it is easy to be misdiagnosed as gastric or duodenal disease; moreover, ordinary ultrasound examination may not show the pancreas due to gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract, so it is very difficult to diagnose pancreatic cancer in the early stage, which is also an important reason for the poor prognosis of pancreatic cancer. High-risk groups with previous family history of pancreatic cancer, history of chronic pancreatitis or long-term smoking, alcohol consumption and high-fat food consumption should be given high priority. Screening for these people has the potential to detect early pancreatic cancer.
