The difference between laryngitis and laryngeal cancer

There is a big difference between laryngitis and throat cancer. First, pharyngitis is an inflammatory reaction. Secondly, throat cancer is a tumor disease. Mild throat inflammation is not life-threatening, while throat cancer may endanger patients’ lives. Laryngitis generally has no specific population incidence, while laryngeal cancer usually occurs in middle-aged and elderly people. In terms of symptoms, there will be pain in the throat, foreign body sensation, choking sensation, irritating cough and dryness, but rarely there will be blood in the sputum and difficulty in breathing. In contrast, throat cancer may not have obvious symptoms in the early stage, but symptoms such as blood in sputum, abnormal pain in throat, difficulty in breathing and tearing of voice may appear. If throat cancer can be detected and treated in time in early stage, the effect is usually very good. Therefore, in general, if such a condition occurs, you must go to the ENT department of the hospital for laryngeal fiberscopy and histopathological biopsy to determine the condition and facilitate timely treatment.
