Bloody discharge usually lasts for 3 to 4 days. The term “bloody discharge” refers to the vaginal discharge of blood, necrotic meconium and other tissues as the uterus sheds its membranes after delivery. Bloody discharge contains a large amount of blood, bright red in color, with a large number of red blood cells and necrotic meconium visible under the microscope. It usually lasts for 3~4 days, after which the blood component gradually decreases and the plasma increases, transforming into plasma malodor. Plasma malodor contains a lot of plasma, pink color, and more necrotic meconium tissue, cervical mucus, and uterine cavity exudate can be seen under the microscope. It usually lasts for about 10 days, after which it changes to white colored discharge. The white discharge is whiter in color and contains a large number of white blood cells, and usually lasts for about 2 weeks. If the bloody discharge is prolonged and has a foul odor, it may indicate the presence of uterine insufficiency combined with infection, and if there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time for diagnosis and treatment.
