After kidney stone surgery, it usually takes about 1 month to recover. Currently, the surgical treatment of kidney stones is based on minimally invasive surgery, in which the kidney stones are crushed and removed through minimally invasive techniques such as ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithoscopy. During the surgery, two drains are placed, one in the renal pelvis to drain the bleeding and urine out of the kidney to prevent the blood clot from blocking the ureter, and the patient needs to stay in bed for 2-3 days after the surgery and then move around after the drainage is clear. The other drainage tube is a double “J” tube, which is placed inside the ureter to prevent collapse and adhesion of the ureter at the same time, and it usually needs to be placed for about 1 month and then removed according to the recovery situation. Usually when the double “J” tubes are removed, the body can gradually recover to healing. During the recovery process, you should avoid strenuous exercise and drink more water to promote urine discharge, which can flush down the residual stones.
