What are the symptoms of polyps?

Different parts of the polyps such as gastric polyps, colon polyps, nasal polyps, gallbladder polyps, etc. appear different symptoms. Nasal polyps may present with nasal congestion, increased nasal discharge, olfactory disturbances, etc. Colorectal polyps may present with change in bowel habit, change in bowel movement, blood in the stool, intussusception, intestinal obstruction, etc. Gastric polyps may present with abdominal distension, gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction, etc. Gallbladder polyps may present with biliary colic, abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting, aversion to oil and grease; cervical polyps may present with leukorrhea, menstrual disorders, and irregular vaginal bleeding. Doctors will formulate different treatment plans according to the location and nature of the polyps. Most of the polyps can be treated under observation with regular follow-up; some of the polyps require surgery and other treatments.
