Can enhanced CT of the neck show lymph node enhancement to determine inflammation?

Enhanced CT lymph node enhancement of the neck cannot be completely judged as inflammatory, because the CT enhancement of the lymph nodes in the neck gets an intensifying effect, indicating that the lymph nodes are in a high metabolic state for the absorption of the contrast agent. This can occur in inflammation and also in malignant tumors. The nature of enlarged lymph nodes cannot be determined by enhanced CT lymph node enhancement of the neck alone. It is important to combine the patient’s medical history and other ancillary tests, such as routine blood tests, biochemical tests, ultrasonography, and possibly even PET-CT, and if necessary, cervical lymph node biopsy, all of which are very important for the diagnosis of enlarged lymph nodes.
