Cerebral infarction may have an impact on sexuality. Both physical and psychological changes after cerebral infarction can affect sexual intimacy and stability for both the patient and partner. The prevalence of post-stroke hypogonadism in patients is about 17% to 42%, and symptoms such as decreased libido and erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction are common. Decreases in the number of sexual encounters, sexual desire, and sexual satisfaction are present even in patients with mild or no disability. Thus cerebral infarction affects sexual life to some extent. Patients with cerebral infarction need to do more rehabilitation training as well as psychological counseling to improve their prognosis. It is recommended that patients with cerebral infarction should seek medical treatment in time and under the guidance of doctors for treatment and rehabilitation training.
