Treatment of allergic rhinitis cough

Cough caused by allergic rhinitis is due to the backflow of secretions into the throat causing cough, its treatment is still for allergic rhinitis, the measures include general treatment, drug treatment, immunotherapy, surgical treatment and so on. 1. General treatment: avoid contact with allergens, such as pollen, animal hair and so on. 2.Drug treatment. (1) Glucocorticoid: glucocorticoid can inhibit mast cells, basophils and mucosal reaction, stabilize nasal mucosal epithelium and vascular endothelial barrier. (2) Antihistamines: such as loratadine, mainly by competing with histamine for histamine receptors on the cell membrane and thus blocking the biological effect of histamine, which can rapidly relieve nasal itching, sneezing, nasal hypersecretion. (3) Mast cell stabilizers: chromones have the effect of stabilizing mast cell membranes, which can prevent cell degranulation and release of mediators. (4) Anti-leukotriene drugs: such as montelukast, because leukotrienes are involved in the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis, so leukotriene receptor antagonists are important drugs for the treatment of allergic rhinitis. (5) Nasal saline rinsing: it can reduce the local allergen concentration in the nasal mucosa and relieve the symptoms. (3) Immunotherapy: By subcutaneous injection or sublingual administration of specific allergens with repeated and increasing doses of allergens, the patient’s ability to tolerate sensitizing allergens can be improved, so as to achieve the purpose of no further onset of disease or symptom reduction after re-exposure to the allergens. 4. Surgery: If the effect of medication or immunotherapy is not good, selective neurectomy can be considered. Allergic rhinitis patients cough, should follow the doctor’s instructions standardized treatment, not self-medication.
