Blepharoplasty, or double eyelid surgery, is available for single eyelids. Blepharoplasty is the most common procedure in cosmetic surgery and is both a basic procedure and a difficult one to master. The highest goal of blepharoplasty is a stable, scarless, natural-looking eyelid line. Currently, blepharoplasty is divided into the buried wire method and the incision method. The buried and micro-incision methods are less invasive, have almost no scarring, and produce a natural-looking blepharoplasty, but they are not suitable for complex conditions such as loose skin, and therefore have very limited indications. The incision method has a wider range of indications and is currently the most commonly used blepharoplasty method, including the transmarginal incision and the transglottic incision. The transmarginal incision has the advantage of a concealed incision, but it is difficult to manage complex conditions such as skin laxity, severe “puffy eyes” and ptosis, so the transmarginal incision is currently the most commonly used.
