Mumps is an infectious disease caused by the mumps virus that requires isolation, usually for 21 days, if it is mumps. Mumps is divided into infectious mumps, immune mumps, obstructive and unexplained inflammatory enlargement, which manifests as redness, swelling and pain in the parotid gland, and in some cases the lesion enters the suppurative stage and pus can flow from the parotid gland when squeezed. In some cases, the submandibular gland is also invaded, complicating orchitis and ovaritis, causing enlargement and pain in the testicles, pain in the lower abdomen if it is complicated by ovaritis, and abdominal pain caused by pancreatitis.
