Granulocytopenia can be caused by hematologic diseases or non-hematologic diseases such as infections, medications, and hyperthyroidism.
1. Hematologic diseases that can cause granulocytopenia include aplastic anemia, acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and so on.
2. Non-hematologic diseases that can cause agranulocytopenia include infection-associated agranulocytopenia, drug-associated agranulocytopenia, hyperthyroidism-associated agranulocytopenia, and rheumatic immune diseases.
The main risk of granulocytopenia is secondary infection. Once infected, the infection is often severe and requires prompt empiric anti-infective treatment. Medications include levofloxacin, among others.
The causes of granulocytopenia are more, different causes, the treatment is different, need to consult the hematology department to improve the relevant examination, to clarify the specific cause of the disease, under the guidance of the physician on the cause of the treatment.
