Personally, I believe that laparoscopic resection of the tail of the pancreas with preservation of the spleen is relatively easy compared to traditional open surgery. This depends on the unique laparoscopic view and surgical access. Such a major surgery took less than 80 minutes from the start of the poke to the closure of the wound. The patient was out of bed the next day and discharged on the fifth day. For the surgeon, doing three such surgeries a day is not very tiring. I think that minimally invasive itself, for the patient, and for the doctor, is equally important.
