Must a unicornuate uterus combined with a stumpy uterus be operated on?

A unicornuate uterus combined with a stumpy uterus does not necessarily necessitate surgery.
The need for surgery for unicornuate uterus combined with stumpy uterus is related to whether or not the patient is pregnant and whether or not the uterine lining is functional. For patients who are not pregnant, surgery is usually not necessary if the endometrium is not functional and there is no cyclic abdominal pain. If the endometrium is functional and cyclic abdominal pain occurs, surgical treatment, i.e. removal of the stumpy uterus and ipsilateral fallopian tube, is required.
For patients with unicornuate uterus combined with stump uterus pregnancy, if the diagnosis is made in the early or middle stage of pregnancy, surgical treatment, i.e., removal of the stump uterus, should be performed promptly, mainly to avoid uterine rupture. If the diagnosis is made in the late stages of pregnancy, surgery is also required, and a cesarean section can be performed to remove the stumpy uterus.
The combination of a unicornuate uterus with a stumpy uterus can be treated accordingly under the supervision of a doctor to avoid adverse effects.
