How to read a CT report card for pneumonia

The CT report card of pneumonia can be viewed in terms of lesion location and density. 1. Location of the lesion: to clarify whether the location of the lesion is limited or diffuse. Generally, the CT report card can clearly indicate the location of the foci of pneumonia, showing whether the foci are confined to one lung lobe or lung segment, or whether they occur in different lobes or lung segments. 2. Density: When the degree of pneumonia is mild, the CT report card will usually describe it as a patchy, flocculent or cloudy shadow. When the degree of pneumonia is more severe, there will be solid changes in the lungs, and the CT report card will show large patches and clusters of high density shadows. At present, the clinical diagnosis of pneumonia cannot be confirmed by CT alone, but also needs to be combined with clinical symptoms and other blood tests to make a comprehensive judgment. It is recommended that patients seek medical attention as soon as possible to identify the cause of the disease and treat the symptoms under the guidance of the doctor, and do not make judgment on your own, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
