What is intravertebral hemangioma?

Intravertebral hemangioma is a common benign tumor that develops in the bone cone and can develop at any age, usually after middle age, and more often in women than men. If the intravertebral hemangioma is small and the patient does not have any uncomfortable symptoms, no special treatment is needed and regular follow-up visits to the hospital are sufficient. However, if the hemangioma is large enough to cause soreness, pain, and even limited movement in the lower back, surgery should be considered. The disease is mainly identified by imaging tests, such as ultrasound, X-ray, arteriography, CT or MRI. Surgery is usually performed by percutaneous vertebroplasty, which can achieve effective treatment and is relatively less invasive.
