Treatment of adenoid hypertrophy

The treatment of adenoid hypertrophy mainly includes three major aspects, conservative treatment, medication and surgery: 1. Conservative treatment: children should pay attention to nutrition, prevent colds and flu, improve the immunity of the body, and actively treat the original disease. With the growth of age, the adenoids will gradually shrink and the condition can be partially or completely relieved; 2. Medication: mainly nasal glucocorticoid sprays and oral anti-leukotriene drugs are taken, through which nasal ventilation can be improved and some mild symptoms can be relieved; 3. If the patient is ineffective by conservative treatment, it is recommended to receive surgical treatment to remove adenoid tissue as soon as possible. Surgery is often performed together with tonsil removal. If the tonsils are not large and rarely become infected, adenoids can be simply removed and the tonsils can be preserved. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and is mainly based on adenoids scraping and minimally invasive surgery.
