Is monkeypox contagious?

Monkeypox is an infectious disease caused by monkeypox virus and is contagious. 1. Monkeypox can be infected through human-animal contact: e.g. susceptible people are directly exposed to the blood, body fluids, skin lesions of infected animals, or are bitten and become infected. 2. Monkeypox can be transmitted from person to person: such as respiratory transmission, face-to-face contact with infected people, through droplet transmission, or contact with the body fluids of patients infected with monkeypox virus, blood, and contaminated items, when infected. Monkeypox is contagious, therefore, once contact with suspected infected patients, need to immediately seek medical attention, isolation, treatment, control the source of infection, cut off the transmission pathway, protection of susceptible people can better control the infection.
