Febuxostat is a drug that inhibits the production of uric acid, thus achieving the effect of lowering uric acid. The current course of febuxostat varies from person to person. If a patient has gout stones, a long history of gout and severe gout symptoms, he/she needs to take febuxostat for a long time. Because gout is not yet completely cured, more than 80% of patients will experience a rebound of uric acid after stopping febuxostat. If the onset of the disease is relatively short and the symptoms are mild, febuxostat does not necessarily need to be taken for a long time, but can be taken for about 1 year, followed by dietary control and physical exercise. A large proportion of this group of patients have the possibility to stop taking febuxostat, so gout patients who want to stop taking febuxostat should also strictly abstain from eating and exercising in order to have the possibility to stop taking it.
