In traditional Chinese medicine, the spleen cannot be mentioned without mentioning the stomach, the spleen and stomach is the “root” of health, if the spleen and stomach function is not strong, it will cause many diseases. I think the spleen and stomach must be nurtured first, the stomach is strong, the body is strong, the stomach is weak, the body is weak. If you compare longevity to building a house, protect the spleen and stomach is to build the foundation, the foundation is not firm, eat more nutrients, health products will not play a big role.
A. Check whether your spleen and stomach are healthy
People who have a bad spleen and stomach can be seen from their appearance. I often encounter such patients in the clinic.
Some of them are pale and have no luster on their lips;
Some are too thin, as if a gust of wind could blow them over;
Some are fat, seemingly large, but not at all sturdy;
Others speak with breathlessness and lack of spirit, young but old before they are old ……
Most of them are caused by the damaged function of their spleen and stomach. Therefore, to know whether the spleen and stomach, I often look at the following parts.
1, mouth and lips
Generally speaking, the lips of people with good spleen and stomach are red and moist, moderately dry and wet, lubricated with light; while the lips of bad spleen and stomach are white and bloodless, appear very dry, easy to burst skin, cracked mouth. Most of the symptoms such as bad breath, swollen and painful gums are related to the lack of digestive capacity of the spleen and stomach. In addition, drooling when sleeping is also a manifestation of spleen qi deficiency.
2.Nose
The meridians of the spleen and stomach are connected to the human nose. Dry nasal cavity, loss of sense of smell, runny nose and nose bleeding are mostly caused by weakness of the spleen and stomach. People with red nose tend to have stomach heat; green nose with abdominal pain also indicates poor spleen and stomach function.
3.Eyes
The spleen and stomach are not good and easily deficient in qi and blood, which in turn affects the liver, which is open to the eyes, so the eyes are easily fatigued and can not see things. In addition, the spleen and the absorption of body fluids is very relevant, if there are often red eyes, swollen face and other phenomena, it may also be a problem of the spleen.
4. Ears
A weak spleen and stomach can cause a person’s kidney energy to be insufficient, often manifesting as tinnitus or even deafness.
In addition, many people have a poor spleen and stomach, caused by overwork or emotions. Especially in spring, when liver fire is strong, people tend to be irritable. People with spleen and stomach disorders often feel weak, cold hands and feet, and sometimes diarrhea in spring.

Stomach illnesses are mostly related to a person’s uncontrolled diet, while spleen illnesses are related to a person’s overwork. Although the causes of spleen and stomach illnesses are different, they must be raised together.
Third, the spleen and stomach have four fears
One is afraid of raw, two is afraid of cold, three is afraid of support, four is afraid of anger. Raw and cold food, such as various cold drinks, raw vegetables and fruits, will bring cold into the body and most likely hurt the spleen and stomach. In addition, the spleen and stomach are most afraid of support, hungry a meal, full a meal to its greatest damage.

I often let patients with poor spleen and stomach move their toes more, equivalent to massage the spleen and stomach two meridians. 3, some drugs hurt the spleen and stomach
Many western drugs can stimulate the stomach and intestines, such as ferrous sulfate, aminophylline, etc. will make people nauseous, vomiting; guanethidine, insulin, etc. will cause diarrhea; aspirin, sodium salicylate, anti-inflammatory pain, etc. will induce gastric and duodenal ulcers leading to bleeding. Some bitter cold class of Chinese medicine, such as Banlangen, six gods pill, etc., deficiency cold physique, often diarrhea people should not take a long time.
4, laughing is the best gift to the spleen and stomach
When people are angry, resentful or anxious, the stomach and face as congested and red; when people are sad, frustrated or depressed, the stomach becomes pale, gastric juice secretion is insufficient, and activity is also reduced. Chinese medicine also believes that bad emotions can affect the regulatory function of the liver, which in turn can affect the spleen and stomach. As you can see, learning to laugh is the best gift for the spleen and stomach.
