Suppose you water your garden with a hose and a rock blocks the hose and prevents the normal flow of water, so that the flow to the orifice may be only half of what it was before, would you fix the orifice? The best solution is to remove the rock, no matter how far away it is from the orifice. Chiropractic care works on the same principle. Here, we have one goal. The “spinal subluxation” is a mechanical interference in the spine with the normal nerve impulses transmitted through the nerve trunks (just like a stone blocking a water pipe). These adjustments reduce spinal misalignments, thus allowing the body’s self-regulatory functions to function with maximum efficiency. The human body and mind are inextricably linked, and a proper balance of this link will keep the human body and mind in a normal state; if this link is out of balance then it is impossible for the human being to be normal in any way. It is the job of the chiropractor to do the necessary treatment to help the body’s internal self-regulation restore this normal connection between mind and body, not just to treat the symptoms on a physical level through manipulation. Restoring the normal connection between mind and body by mobilizing the self-regulatory functions is the essence of chiropractic care. Depending on the patient’s condition, we use chiropractic + physical therapy + computerized analysis of spinal x-rays, a process that takes roughly 30 minutes or so, and is a complete treatment that can be done without further medication or other treatments. It should be noted that treating only the symptoms is contrary to our treatment principles. For example, aspirin blocks nerve conduction, and the goal of our treatment is to restore nerve conduction to normal. Do you want the nerve conduction to be blocked so you don’t feel pain but the disease remains, or do you want the nerve conduction to return to normal so you can be healthy? For those who prefer a safe treatment with no side effects, we can say that chiropractic is your first choice, followed by medication and finally surgery. You have nothing to lose, the only thing you have to lose is the pain. Here is a reminder that the chiropractic procedure takes only ten minutes, but the next few hours are crucial. The more rested you are and the more relaxed your neck and other spine is, the faster and more lasting your results will be. It is important to keep your spine natural for a few hours after the correction and not to move around to test the healing process. If you move heavy objects, you may revert to your pre-correction state. For the best results, you should have someone drive you home instead of driving yourself, or take a leisurely walk home and find a comfortable position to relax and rest. The process from treatment to effect and then to overall body function can take days, weeks or months, and it is best to let the condition heal in its natural time and way. People spend about 1/3 of their lives sleeping, and maintaining proper sleeping posture is very important to the health of the spine. Many people are used to sleeping to the left, to the right, on their backs and on their stomachs. But the best sleeping position is to sleep on your back, followed by side sleep, but never sleep on your stomach. Whether you are sleeping on your side or on your back, should be between the neck and the bed with a pillow of moderate thickness and texture to ensure that the head does not sag. The height of the pillow is best adjusted according to different postures to accommodate the different distances between the neck and the bed. Note: Do not sleep on your stomach! Because when you sleep on your back you are bound to turn your head to one side to breathe, so that the neck is in a twisted state, the muscles on the side of the warm bed relaxed, and the muscles on the side of the cold air in contact with it tense. The habitual twisting of the neck creates more or less permanent striae, which manifest themselves in the form of woody, stiff neck muscles that feel like hard striae or nodules to the touch. During our daily examinations of patients, we can almost always tell which patients are used to sleeping on their backs because their examinations are generally very poor. It may be simpler to understand it this way: you sleep how you stand. Just as you don’t tilt your head to the left or right when you stand, or droop your head to your chest or tilt it back, you should also maintain the correct posture of your neck when you sleep. Don’t put your head up on a pillow that’s too high, and don’t let your head dangle directly onto the bed without a pillow at all. Once the spine is reset, it is stable in that position. By strictly implementing the above precautions, you can effectively reduce the frequency of treatment and save time and money. This is a very good thing. The main reason for sometimes spacing out treatment is to give the patient sufficient rest to restore health by using their own internal regulatory functions. In our many years of experience in the practice of medicine, we have found that when things are not overdone, we receive better and more lasting results. Those who can accept this universal truth will benefit from it. We often encounter situations where people with acute illnesses will stay on medication until they turn chronic. As is the rule, chiropractors always take on such long-standing and stubborn conditions. When such patients have been given up by general practitioners, have seen specialists, and have even had surgery but to no avail, they turn to the chiropractor as their last hope, discouraged, disappointed, and skeptical of all treatments. They don’t consider that they have been taking medications for one to decades and their condition is getting worse. You must realize that you have a long term condition that cannot be fully recovered after a few days of treatment. All we ask is that you give chiropractic an unbiased review and you will feel the true value of chiropractic. Some people only start exercising when they are going to participate in sports, while others exercise every day; some people only start eating nutritious, low-calorie foods when they realize it’s time to lose weight, while others eat a healthy diet all the time; some people only rest and sleep when they are very tired and about to fall off the wagon, while others get plenty of rest and sleep every day; some people only realize to fix their car or house when it breaks down, while others Some people only realize to repair their cars or houses when they break down, while others take care of their cars and houses regularly and maintain them, knowing that they will last longer. Some people only realize to correct their spine when they have unbearable neck and back pain, even herniated discs and spinal stenosis, while others regularly correct their spine to maintain their health. What matters is whether you want to be the former or the latter. For me, I want to keep the nerve conduction between brain cells and tissue cells unimpeded every day of my life, every moment of every day, so that my body is always in a healthy state!
