Pregnancy is possible if the patient has no significant organ damage, has been stable for more than one year, has been off immunosuppressive drugs for at least six months and requires only a small amount of hormone maintenance therapy, but needs to be under strict supervision of a large regulated hospital multidisciplinary unit so that prompt treatment can be given in the event of an exacerbation.
There are no strict contraindications to intercourse as long as the patient does not have significant organ damage such that a little exertion can affect the condition. However, if during oral glucocorticoid or immunosuppressive therapy, an increased risk of reproductive infection is inevitable due to the body’s reduced immunity.
