Chronic gastritis is not atrophic gastritis. In China, chronic gastritis is divided into non-atrophic gastritis, atrophic gastritis, and special types of gastritis. Non-atrophic gastritis is superficial gastritis, which is the early stage of chronic gastritis and is pathologically characterized by lymphocytic infiltration, while the later stage manifests as atrophic gastritis, which is pathologically characterized by atrophy or intestinalization of the glands of the lamina propria of the gastric mucosa. If life and diet are not taken care of, the disease will continue to develop and atypical hyperplasia will appear. Mild and moderate atypical hyperplasia require close follow-up, while patients with severe atypical hyperplasia can undergo minimally invasive treatment under gastroscopy. If there is no timely intervention, it will develop into gastric cancer.
