Liver biochemical index examination items and significance

Liver biochemical index examination items include aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and glutamine transpeptidase, bilirubin and other indexes. 1. Aminotransferase, including alanine aminotransferase and glutamine aminotransferase, i.e., ALT and AST, which can reflect liver damage when their indexes are elevated, and ALT is more obvious when viral hepatitis, drug-induced liver damage, autoimmune hepatitis, etc., and AST is more obvious when alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis, hemolysis, etc., are present. 2. Alkaline phosphatase and glutamate transpeptidase, i.e. ALP and GGT, ALP will be elevated when there is bile duct obstruction, liver infiltrative disease, etc.; GGT will be elevated when there is alcoholic liver disease and renal insufficiency, etc. 3. Bilirubin, including direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin and total bilirubin, i.e., DBiL, IBiL and TBiL, if elevated, it indicates jaundice, and emphasis should be placed on checking for diseases that may cause jaundice. 4. Other indicators, including prothrombinogen activity and international normalized ratio, which can reflect liver injury; and albumin, blood sugar, blood lipids and coagulation series, can play a certain clinical significance. If there is any discomfort, seek prompt medical attention.
