Our department recently successfully completed the first case of idiopathic scoliosis correction in China using the latest international technique of co-planar de-rotation correction of the spine. The patient was a 16-year-old female with 96% correction of S curvature and 7 cm height gain. this technique allows for excellent correction of spinal deformities (scoliosis, kyphosis and rotation) in three dimensions in one go with special surgical tools.
