Needle-and-eye lithotripsy is suitable for: any stone larger than 0.6cm in diameter in the upper end of kidney and ureter that cannot be expelled by itself; especially suitable for patients with multiple stones, cast stones, deer-horn stones, patients who have previously undergone open surgery or other methods of treatment have failed, and patients such as children and elderly who are afraid of pain and have poor tolerance. Non-invasive stone extraction (ureteroscopic stone extraction, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy) is suitable for most patients with ureteral stones and bladder stones and urethral stones. With no surgical incision, recovery after surgery is fast, and patients can be discharged from the hospital 2~3 days after surgery. If the previous open surgery takes at least about 10 days to be discharged. Minimally invasive surgery features: 1. Small trauma: no incision can be seen on the patient or only an incision less than 1cm long, while open surgery will leave a wound of 15-20cm; 2. Fast recovery: the patient can get out of bed on the same day or the second day of minimally invasive surgery, and does not need to be bedridden for 3-5 days or longer after surgery as in open surgery. Minimally invasive surgery often does not require blood transfusion because of the small damage and less bleeding. Drinking more water is a simple way to prevent urinary tract stones.3 There are also advantages such as less pain, less cost, fewer complications, no obvious scars after surgery, and a wide range of indications.
