What is nebulizer treatment

Nebulizer therapy is a treatment method that uses the principle of gas jet to form an aerosol by impinging water droplets into tiny droplets suspended in the gas to be inhaled into the whistling tract for whistling wetting or drug inhalation. Nebulizer inhalation is the first choice for the treatment of wheezing diseases in children. I believe that many parents are aware of nebulization. The main factors affecting nebulization: 1, aerosol particle diameter: 1-5μm drug particles are the most appropriate: >5μm, deposited in the oropharynx; <0.5μm, about 90% with the gas whistle; 2, median particle size (MMD): a measure of the degree of particle size variation; 3, geometric standard deviation (GSD): the degree of particle size variation; 4, whistling: oral superior to Nasal inhalation, tidal inhalation, slow speed, high drug deposition in the lungs; 5, the structure of the inhalation tract 6, other: temperature, humidity, tension and other factors. Understanding these points, the family can read the manual when choosing a nebulizer. in principle, the higher the homogeneity of the aerosol produced by the machine, the greater the number of particles between 1-5 μm in diameter, the better the nebulization inhalation effect. children under 5 years old, with oral inhalation difficulties, should choose mask inhalation. When doing nebulization, it is important to keep quiet and use the mouth and nose to inhale slowly and calmly. When crying and quarrelling, most of the aerosol is deposited in the stomach and has little effect. Nebulizer treatment needs to know the following points: 1, ultrasonic nebulizer is not suitable for nebulizer inhalation treatment of wheezing diseases; 2, dexamethasone direct nebulizer inhalation is not recommended; 3, when doing nebulization the amount of drug pool solution should be sufficient, generally required to be above 3ml; 4, for severe wheezing with whistling difficulties and hypoxia, oxygen nebulization is preferred, but the oxygen flow rate should not be too small and should be controlled above 6-8L/min; Why To choose glucocorticoids as nebulized drugs? Inhaled glucocorticoids are the drug of choice for long-term control of asthma, which can effectively control asthma symptoms, improve quality of life, improve lung function, reduce airway inflammation and airway hyperresponsiveness, and reduce asthma attacks. Inhaled glucocorticosteroids can reduce local inflammatory edema in the whistle tract and reduce airway obstruction. Does inhaled glucocorticosteroids have any effect on the growth and development of children? The results of a large 5-year study showed no effect on the physical development of children at therapeutic doses of pramipexole for 5 years. However, side effects of nebulized pramipexole (budesonide suspension) may occur: e.g. oral mycobacterial infections, hoarseness. However, the hoarseness will be relieved by itself after 1-2 days of discontinuation, and the oral mycobacterial infection will be cured by applying mycobacterial solution to the mouth for 1-2 days.
