What if antipsychotics cause amenorrhea and lactation?

Some patients taking antipsychotic drugs may experience amenorrhea, lactation, and elevated prolactin levels. The main reason for this is that some antipsychotic drugs block dopamine receptors in the nodal funnel of the brain, causing elevated prolactin levels, which in turn cause amenorrhea, lactation, and sexual dysfunction in women; and breast development and sexual dysfunction in men. Solution: 1. Reduce the amount of medication, but pay attention to whether the disease relapses. 2.Add herbal medicine, such as Wuji Baifeng Pill and Yimouzhuang. 3.Artificial cycle. If the above methods do not work, you can switch to drugs that do not raise prolactin levels and do not cause amenorrhea and lactation, such as aripiprazole, olanzapine and other drugs.
