There are two types of polydactyly surgery: 1, the simpler polydactyly surgery, is a simple excision of the superfluous finger, the removal of the vice finger, recovery is fast, 2 weeks to remove the stitches, 1 month later the main finger can be restored to the same as the normal finger; 2, the more complex polydactyly surgery, not only the superfluous finger excision, but also to do the repair work of the main finger. The repair of the main finger is an orthopedic surgery, accompanied by an artificial fracture of the phalanx after the orthopedic, and then fixed with steel pins, assisted by plaster for external fixation. The recovery time is longer, it is a man-made fracture and takes the same amount of time as a fresh fracture. Children’s fractures heal quickly, with fracture healing achieved in 1-2 months. After the fracture is healed, the function of the fingers is restored through rehabilitation, which takes 3-6 months after the more complicated polydactyly resection.
