Principles of rhinitis

Rhinitis is an inflammatory disease of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, which occurs mainly due to viruses, bacteria, allergens, physical factors, and reactions of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity caused by systemic factors. The reaction can be congestion of the nasal mucosa, swelling of the mucosa, inflammatory exudation, hyperplasia, atrophy, or even necrosis of the mucosa, etc. These are the main principles of rhinitis. The symptoms of rhinitis can be allergic rhinitis, which is mainly characterized by repeated sneezing, runny nose, and itchy nose, because of the above mentioned pathological principles. It can also be dry rhinitis, which is mainly characterized by dry nasal mucosa, atrophy of mucosal gland secretion, and low nasal secretions. It can also be chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, which is mainly characterized by thickening of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity. In conclusion, the pathogenesis of rhinitis can be divided into many types, and the clinical treatment for each type of rhinitis is different.
