Treatment of dry cough

The treatment of dry cough requires specific analysis depending on the cause. There are many causes of dry cough, the first being non-infectious diseases and the second being the initial stage of infectious diseases. Non-infectious diseases that cause dry cough such as eosinophilic bronchitis, cough variant asthma, and allergic cough, the treatment of these three diseases requires anti-allergy and relief of airway inflammation, and the most important treatment is hormones, which usually require topical or systemic application. For gastroesophageal reflux cough, proton pump inhibitors, which we often refer to as omeprazole, can be administered. Laryngeal cancer requires anti-cancer treatment and local radiotherapy treatment. The three cases of tracheobronchial bifurcation partly irritated by pressure, tracheal or bronchial tumor, and tracheal or bronchial foreign body require bronchoscopy and interventional treatment. In the early stage of infectious diseases, dry cough and acute pharyngitis require throat clearing and laryngeal treatment, such as throat clearing and laryngeal tablets, and inflammation requires anti-inflammatory treatment. Acute tracheobronchitis requires anti-inflammatory treatment at the beginning, and hormones can be given to relieve airway inflammation. The general principle of treatment is to analyze the specific cause of dry cough, which is a symptom, not a specific disease, and the symptoms can be relieved only after dealing with the original disease.
