In orthopedic clinics, we often see patients with heel pain, mostly middle-aged and elderly people, who often feel heel pain without obvious reasons and walk with one step, which seriously affects their daily life. However, examination does not reveal any redness, swelling, hardness or skin ulceration at the painful area. This condition is always called heel pain. Etiology 1, due to long-term walking or persistent standing caused by the heel nodes attached to the metatarsal long ligament and metatarsal tendon membrane stretching injury, stimulated by chronic aseptic periostitis, fibrous tissue inflammation, walking began to pain, after activity to reduce. 2, due to age or injury caused by the heel fat pad atrophy, resistance to pressure is reduced, causing pain. 3.Walking on hard ground, often standing, the heel subacromial bursa is stimulated by external force and aseptic inflammation occurs, and the pain increases after activity. Clinical manifestations 1, localized pain in the heel, no swelling, aggravated when walking. 2.The anterior medial heel plantar pressure pain. 3, Sometimes there are other deformities, such as flat feet. 4.Lateral x-ray of the heel bone may have bone spurs. Treatment 1, reduce local pressure: sponge heel pad, orthopedic shoes, external fixation of plaster can be used. 2.Local physical therapy or hot compress. 3, painful point closure: 12.5-25mg of hydrocortisone acetate or prednisolone plus 1%-2% procaine 0.5-2ml local injection, once a week, 1-3 times as a course of treatment. 4, anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug application.
