Banlangen has a purgative and detoxifying effect, but it is not very effective in treating herpes. Herpes is caused by herpes virus infection, there are genital herpes, herpes simplex, herpes zoster, etc. Generally herpes simplex and genital herpes are caused by herpes virus type I and II infections; herpes zoster is caused by varicella-zoster virus infection. Treatment can be given by giving vaxilovir or famciclovir orally and topical penciclovir gel topically. Herpes zoster also needs to be treated with nerve-nourishing medication. Herpes is a viral infection and requires rest and avoiding behaviors that can lower the immune system such as exertion. Viral infections usually get better after about two weeks, but genital herpes and herpes simplex are prone to recurrence.
