How to treat calf valgus

If calf valgus occurs in children, especially those less than one year old, conservative treatments such as the use of manipulative massage, manipulative application of force, and correction of knee valgus, as well as the use of hot packs, massages, and rubs on the knee, can be used to progressively correct calf valgus in pediatric patients. Because the ligaments in children are more flexible, they are more traceable. If calf valgus occurs in adults, it can be treated surgically, with proximal tibial osteotomies in younger patients, to correct calf valgus and lower limb lines of force. In older patients with calf valgus due to joint degeneration, total knee replacement surgery can be performed to correct the lower limb line of force.
