Duloxetine hydrochloride, a dual 5-hydroxytryptamine and norepinephrine reuptake blocker. It can increase the secretion of neurotransmitters, such as 5-hydroxytryptamine, norepinephrine and dopamine, thus exerting anxiolytic, antidepressant and pain-relieving effects. Current clinical indications, mainly include depressive disorders, diabetic peripheral neuralgia, stress urinary incontinence, neuropathic pain, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, generalized anxiety disorder, and other anxiety disorders. It is also effective in functional psychiatric disorders with significant somatic pain. The effects of duloxetine take effect in about two weeks, and may take longer. Therefore, it should be used consistently, preferably for 6-8 weeks.
