Is it necessary to do amniocentesis for three-generation IVF?

An amniocentesis test is usually recommended after a woman undergoes triple IVF. Three-generation IVF is a kind of in vitro fertilization, also known as pre-implantation genetic screening, which means that before embryo implantation, 1-2 cells are taken out from split-stage embryos or blastocysts for biopsy in order to check whether there is chromosomal abnormality, so as to exclude chromosomal and genetic abnormality of the fetus with a family history of hereditary disease or to avoid the occurrence of hemophilia, thalassemia, and other single-gene hereditary diseases, in order to achieve the purpose of eugenics. However, three-generation IVF can not do 100% to avoid the occurrence of the above situations, it is recommended that pregnant women conceived by three-generation IVF undergo amniocentesis to rule out chromosomal problems in the fetus. Pregnant women are advised to keep a good mood, actively cooperate with the doctor’s examination, pay attention to rest in life, avoid overwork, and at the same time, take regular pregnancy tests to facilitate understanding of the development of the fetus.
